According to the 13-month Galactic Calendar, the year is divided into 13 months of 28 days. 13 x 28 = 364 leaving July 25 as a day out of time. The Galactic Calendar movement is a modern application of the the Mayan calendar system, which proponents hold will bring us into harmony with the universe.
It is, however, more than a fringe New Age movement. George Eastman, of Eastman Kodak, was one of its greatest promotors and it was used at Kodak from 1928-1989.
Currently two eminent professors at Johns Hopkins University continue to fight for calendar reform: Richard Henry, Professor of Astronomy and Steve Hanke, Professor of Economics.

Personally, as a calendar publisher for neigh on ten years, I can understand the logic behind it. What scares me is the belief that the adoption of this calendar will somehow bring peace on Earth.
