Haiku Poetry Day

Several unreliable sources list December 22 as Haiku Poetry Day. Haiku is a Japanese poetry form composed of 17 syllables, traditionally in a 5-7-5 formation, but there are other styles.

African-American novelist Richard Wright wrote over 4,000. 810 are included in This Other World, published by Arcade Publishing.
