International Day Against Digital Rights Management

October 12 is International Day against Digital Rights Management is a grassroots international observance of protest against digital rights technology, which it calls Defective by Design, due to embedded restrictions on copying and distributing media and is a reaction against World Intellectual Property Day.

The event is sponsored by the Free Software Foundation and endorsed by Creative Commons, the Document Foundation and Public Knowledge.
